In 2023 the Dodgeball NZ nationals went back to Dunedin, Canterbury defended their mens title, again beating another Cantebury team in the final. In the Mixed division saw the Auckland Sharks team reclaim the national title, beating the Canterbury team. 

The 2022 edition was hosted at the Selwyn Sports Centre. A Canterbury mens and mixed team taking out the gold medal, beating the Auckalnd Sharks in the final of the mixed and another Canterbury team for the mens division

The 2020 National tournament saw the Marlborough Muscle win the Men's division, beating the Auckland Sharks in the final. The Mixed division saw the Auckland Sharks win gold, beating the Marlborough Muscle in the final. This was the first national tournament in the sport's history where the defending champions, the Canterbury Vikings, weren't involved in the final.
